i totally get it. captchas are NOT DESIGNED to prevent bots... that does not exist in the govt lexicon or understanding. its just that someone who made these websites was taught "captcha" should exist on search forms, thats about it. indian income tax website originally had stupid captchas. last year they revamped the site and captcha is gone. EVERYONE IS HAPPY. this is not about adding friction or some malicious purpose, the dev needs to add a checkbox on the budget that "captcha has been implemented", so they did the lowest cost denominator
