- rektide 3y agoMy cynicism that government will have an all useful or helpful role here is pretty low. And a big part of me thinks whatever happens here will end up impacting individuals & speech-to protect against ai we have decided all speech must be from registered people, so some such huge blast zone disaster.
- version_five 3y agoThe main effect will be making it harder for small businesses to compete and funneling money to consultants. This is all about regulatory capture. It will be good for open source because (I'd like to think) there's no way government can control it, they can only try and wield money as a motivator. I'd worry a bit about compute infrastructure getting less available.
