Why are all these companies bidding on this? Is there a bubble of headset users that I’m not aware of?
- MacsHeadroom 3y agoThere are 6 Billion or so display users, give-or-take a billion. Head mounted displays are just the obvious evolution of display technology.
- s1k3s 3y agoWhat's so obvious about it? Literally every BIG_CORP except Apple has tried (and failed) at this.
- whatarethembits 3y agoThis. They have all failed at this thus far, it naturally means that anyone trying will fail next time too. For eternity. It’s a well established law of nature at this point, that if new tech isn’t a massive hit within the first few iterations, it’s a wrap.
- oezi 3y agoI think Sony was happy with PSVR sales. Everyone else burned money. A headset which is half the weight, double the resolution and still cheap would sell well.
- s1k3s 3y agoYeah well Sony already has the biggest gaming marketplace to back that up. Everyone else doesn't have this.
