Ask HN: What is your “third place?”
Sociologists often speak of a “third place,” separate from home and the workplace, where people congregate, socialize, and relax in public. Frequent examples are community centers, bars, places of worship, and barber shops. What is yours?

- mindcrime 3y agoThe cafe at the local Barnes & Noble store.
- uberman 3y agoI coach competitive youth sports. My teams are my second home.
- rektide 3y agoBars/restauraunts/cafes used to be very popular for me but things close much sooner now. There are some options but the ha bit has been hard to restart. I do spend a good amount of time at some of the excellent local parks.
- soueuls 3y agoCampus libraries (I’m not a student anymore so that’s indeed a third place)
