The KIM-1 that sounds like Stephen Hawking (or: “jitbanging” DECtalk)
- PopePompus 3y agoThe KIM-1 was the Raspberry Pi of the late 1970s. I spent a lot of time using them in little automation projects while in college. There was no operating system involved at all; everything from the reset vector on up was my code.
- classichasclass 3y ago(author) WDC sells modern 6502 SBCs which I've got to try out, but the KIM-1 is somehow more appealing, especially with the onboard hex keypad.
- jgrahamc 3y agoI wrote a bunch of code for a KIM-1 in the mid-80s because it was being used to control an industrial machine. https://blog.jgc.org/2013/04/how-i-coded-in-1985.html https://blog.jgc.org/2013/04/how-i-coded-in-1985.html
