Mark Cuban says Elon Musk’s Twitter plan goes deeper than anyone realizes
- RhodesianHunter 3y agoNo one would have any use for an LLM trained on Elon's tweets.
- _zzaw 3y agoI, uh...actually don't find it difficult to believe he spent $44 billion just to create a better version of Microsoft Tay.
- WheelsAtLarge 3y agoPeople want to concoct all kinds of nefarious and hidden motives to Musk's use of twitter but the simplest reason is what he has stated. He wants to make it an everything app. That's it. But the biggest bonus for him is that he gets to control the biggest blow horn ever. We'll be hearing about his BS from now until the end of twitter or him. Whichever comes first. For an egomaniac, he got a dream come true plus he can make a buck too. It's that simple. At this point he can take chances, yes $44 bil is a lot but he has so many more even if he loses all the $44 bil in twitter. It's an easy gamble.
- timonoko 3y agoInteresting Elon-experience. You learn no amount of shit posting gets you canned, so you grow tired of it and start to behave.
- BulgarianIdiot 3y agoThis works when the value you get out of shit-posting is just the trolling. But actually fake accounts and propaganda bots are used by parties to which misinformation is a huge system of power and money. And those are all over Twitter now, and they won't stop.
- BulgarianIdiot 3y agoI've heard this "4D chess theory" before, that he bought Twitter to build an AI. It's clearly nonsense, retroactive justification, because: 1. He kept trying to get away from the deal of buying Twitter. 2. He only stopped OpenAI's Firehose access after ChatGPT blew up, months after he bought Twitter. 3. He only started looking for AI researchers after ChatGPT blew up, months after he bought Twitter. If he had a plan, this is not the order of events we'd expect. ChatGPT surprised him. In his mind OpenAI were dying without him, and doing nothing of value. I also have serious doubts he'll be able to ship a competitive AI at this point. He's too much behind, and he'll have difficulties hiring top talent because he's erratic and unreasonable manager. And panicked. Oh and also Twitter's not paying its bills and rent. ------------- Real ways in which Twitter goes "deeper than anyone expects", however, are this: countries like Turkey, India, China bought themselves Twitter compliance by getting entangled with SpaceX and Tesla. But this doesn't go deeper than I realize, because here I am talking about it. It in fact goes deeper than Elon realized before he bought Twitter. Conflict of interest is his modus operandi now. But this won't save him.
