- Wistar 3y agoPerhaps effective against completely autonomous vehicles?
- vonnik 3y agoThere are three ways I know to bring down a drone with electronic warfare: - jam the operator's signal (RF) - jam or spoof GPS/GLONASS (RF) - fry the electronics There are degrees of autonomy. Some autonomous vehicles do not rely on their operators, but continue to rely on GPS et al. Fuller autonomy requires an internal navigation system based on local data of the terrain to be navigated. In that case, the only thing left is to damage the on-board electronics. Google tells me this is what microwaves do... https://www.sciencefocus.com/future-technology/drone-killer-fires-microwave-beams-to-disable-uavs/ https://www.sciencefocus.com/future-technology/drone-killer-...
