Looking from the outside, this is astonishing.
I suspect Firecracker is set up to be as quick to initialize as possible, but still that a vanilla (ie not an optimized fork) can do that ... My phone takes a two orders of magnitude more!
I hope your BSDCan talk is getting recorded.
- cperciva 3y agoYes, talks are being recorded, should be up on YouTube in a month or two depending on how busy the (volunteer) video editors are.
- maccard 3y agoYour phone boots in 2.8 seconds? Mine is closer to 2.8 minutes.
- senko 3y agoNo, closer to 62 seconds (which is 100x the total boot time, not just the kernel)
