I worked in a downtown area for 3 years and used to walk around there quite a bit. I think trucks are 10 times louder than cars. I walk by 20 cars idling at a stop light and 20 cars driving in the other direction. The noise doesn't bother me. The car exhaust doesn't bother me either. I stand next to one diesel truck idling and the noise is really loud and the exhaust makes me cough. If I could make any changes I would get rid of diesel trucks first.
