- cammikebrown 3y agoThey’re not necessarily old recipes. One of the more popular ones, Westmalle Tripel, was first brewed in 1934.
- jsmith99 3y agoThe strong ones are modern innovations (in response to Belgium banning bars from selling spirits for much of the 20th century) but those aren't the type the monks drink themselves.
