Surely passkey support is an open source kinda thing we would want to build on, rather than paying 1Password?
- micah-1password 3y agoHey there, WebAuthn is an open standard that anyone can use to implement support for passkeys. That said, there is significant complexity around building a solution that can handle edge cases (devices that don't support passkeys), account recovery, etc. Not to mention the need to build out UI elements and back-end infrastructure. Passage is a solution that handles all of this for developers, so they can implement with just a few lines of code instead of building from scratch.
