"When the cellphone runs out, the internet gets cut off, or the television doesn't work because of no electricity or power to your house, you can still turn on your AM radio." Oh, yeah, sure, let me turn on the radio when I have no power at the wall. Fat lot of good it does me to have data in AM waves sloshing around when just about every modern radio I've ever used won't make noise without wall power. Would the average American even know that they could get information from the government over AM radio in a disaster?
