The author does not _want_ to download an app because it is "antisocial use of public bandwidth". What exactly is social use of the bandwidth then? Is this kind of attitude common?
- alexchamberlain 15y agoI agree to an extent; I try to avoid downloading apps when I'm not on WiFi - mobile internet is slow enough as it is!
- jonpacker 15y agoFurthermore, the author was just about to stream a video which would likely be much larger than the app itself.
- mjwalshe 15y agoMakess sense when you see how much mobile data costs.
- jackalope 15y agoI'd be very uncomfortable downloading an app on a foreign network simply because a single web page told me to do so. I'm sure I'm more paranoid than most, but that's an easy way to get phished. I'm surprised the author didn't cite that as a reason.
