There have been other studies where students who had to miss large amounts of school due to a natural disaster caught up within a few years and there was no measurable difference in adulthood.
- lamontcg 3y agoOne thing the pandemic taught us is that school is primarily baby-sitting for parents that work.
- o0banky0o 3y agoMaybe not "extremely" important, but autodidacticism can be terribly socially pathological, which pedagogy is meant to deal with. A lot of the point seems to be social, we want our kids to be able to navigate each others ideas with a common logic
