Show HN: Brainpick – StackOverflow for Enterprise
Meet Brainpick.co.uk, it's like Stackoverflow, but for Enterprise. Our platform connects you with experts who can help to answer your complex enterprise questions. It's a paid service, but you only pay for the answer you accept, so it's a no risk scenario. Right now, we've got a number of awesome Oracle experts on board, and we're always adding new members.
I started Brainpick for two reasons: 1. There are so many knowledgeable people in the enterprise space who are willing to share their expertise. 2. I wanted to create a freelancing platform that doesn't require you to constantly sell yourself and compete for customers. I think the Stackoverflow's model is perfect for this purpose.
We are still validating the idea, and we need your questions to understand the limits of the platform. At this stage, we don't require credit card information to post a question, however you are expected to put an amount you would pay for a correct answer.
P.S. The currently available questions will pay real money.
- MattGaiser 3y agoI always wondered why Stack Overflow wouldn't let me put a financial bounty on a question, as in the past there have been questions I would have paid to have answered. Quite interesting.
- nnurmanov 3y agoBefore the current model, I created a Chrome extension that allowed setting bounties on SO's questions. I did not find a way to attract customers. But yes, SO should become more enterprise oriented, nobody is going to go through megabytes of logs to solve a problem for free.

- MattGaiser 3y agoI am not getting a confirmation code to my email to successfully sign up. My email is 13mdg5@queensu.ca. Can you send one out?
- MattGaiser 3y agoNevermind. Finally arrived.
- deofoo 3y agoThe beginning of the end of the free internet is here... Nevertheless, cool idea.

- AHOHA 3y agoInteresting, I just hope you won’t “recognize” those experts based on arbitrary metrics (like git commits) or phony experiences (like TED talks or popular “content creators”), instead, having a better system in place.
- nnurmanov 3y agoThis is a difficult question, this is why I love SO's model, anyone could answer, but the customer takes the ultimate decision. But just in case, I'd like to establish some barriers, e.g. you have to have some points to answer a question, just like SO.
- nnurmanov 3y agoBtw, the best resource to find expert is LinkedIn, Upwork did not work I someone could have expected.
- nnurmanov 3y agoBtw, we need ClickHouse experts, send me an email info@brainpick.co.uk, I have a project for you
