Large corporations have not been able to do anything about filesharing technologies like bittorrent. This entire legal argument is almost beside-the-point because development on open source models can continue on onion sites too. It will only affect commercial operations, and they won't be able to release a fine tuned model on a banned LLM even if they do have a pre-ban copy saved.
