What’s it like to code with GPT-4 and aider?
- anotherpaulg 3y agoLately I've been doing a lot of coding with GPT-4. It's been fascinating to discover how many different kinds of coding tasks it can help with. I collected a bunch of chat transcripts that show what it's been like creating and editing code with GPT-4. The chats cover a variety of tasks like generating new code, exploring and editing existing code, debugging complex multi-file code changes, updating documentation, etc. I'm curious if others are getting similar benefits from using GPT-4 for coding, and what workflows folks are finding effective? I've been spending time with tools like copilot, aichat, gish, promptr. I've built my preferred workflow into the aider command line tool, which I used to capture these chat transcripts. But I'd love pointers to other successful tools and workflows for more inspiration.
