Fearmongering PR for the auto industry to drive new car sales. Using an old car is better for the environment than making a new one, electric or not. And you still have to get the energy for an EV from somewhere. All the tech does is change the supply chain a little bit and centralize the power production so that governments can better steer a shift to clean energy. I personally will never drive an EV, if they come with all this extra crap like reverse cameras and connectivity.
