The Ultimate Steve Jobs Collection
- dmitrisleonov 15y agoWow. This is what Chill is all about, huh?
- marchustvedt 15y agoVery good collection here, missing a few of the early keynote clips, but worth a bookmark. His Stanford address is still top 5 best speeches of all time for me.
- DavidSJ 15y agoWhat are the other four?
- asherhunt 15y agoSo Inspiring. So thorough.
- studobalina 15y agoCalm down bro. You work at Chill.
- asherhunt 15y agoHAY! Don't bro me, if you don't know me! :)
- rbanffy 15y agoImpressive job. I'll have to spend a couple dozen hours there.
- ashamedlion 15y agoI realize this doesn't have much to do with the talks themselves, but: I feel like other people don't have this problem, but I'm really not a fan of the Pinterest-style content grids. I think it's really difficult to parse content on Chill as well as Pinterest. My eyes sort of skip all over the place and I just don't feel comfortable sorting through the information. I get the same problem with the Facebook timeline.
- shashashasha 15y agoI think my issue with Facebook Timeline is often the content is text-based. When it's more visual like on Pinterest it poses less of a problem to me, and can do the "washing over" kind of flow that it's designed for.
- rahulcap 15y agoI agree with shashashasha that the visual nature of the content actually works well with this type of content. There is a bit of information overload that you refer to, but for me it makes the feed of videos (at chill) more engaging than a feed on youtube (straight list). I'm not sure why, but i'm thinking it is because many people's brains are getting bored with the repetitiveness on internet and the information overload (combining thumbnails, comments, ratings) keeps it interesting.
- mark_integerdsv 15y agoI have to agree but due to circumstances (expensive, capped Internet in South Africa) I'm even more put out by the fact that there is no indication of how many megs each clip is or at least how many minutes so I can do the mental arithmetic necessary to decide wether to click through or not...
- jason_slack 15y agoAlso check out http://6colors.net http://6colors.net for lots more Apple footage. There is a lot more to be added, already encoded even.
- studobalina 15y ago1) Click on link 2) See a bunch of images in a Masonry grid 3) Don't see a logical structure of the content 4) Close Sorry Chill, pivot again?
- jason_slack 15y agoha ha, that video was awesome! A social network for toddlers?
- ebf 15y agoI'm pretty disappointed in the direction Chill has gone. Social video is an incredibly interesting area. Chill, however, didn't iterate too much on the idea of Turntable for videos, and now they've pivoted to a Pinterest for videos.
- dkrich 15y agoSigns a startup is in trouble: 1) It pivots and then immediately releases a professional Apple-style promo video demoing its new offering. 2) The creators produce the majority of the content on the site.
- stevenj 15y agoWhen news broke that Steve had died, I put up a post listing many good remembrances, articles, and content about him that I knew of and/or could find. http://www.chipsandguac.com/thoughts/stevejobs.html http://www.chipsandguac.com/thoughts/stevejobs.html
