"Standard C" is the C that was standardized. This is not what you get from your compiler by default! With gcc, you have to use `gcc -std=c99 -pedantic-errors`,

"Standard C" is the C that was standardized.
This is not what you get from your compiler by default!
With gcc, you have to use `gcc -std=c99 -pedantic-errors`, otherwise it will accept programs which are invalid according to the standard.
