Commission clears acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft
- jeroenhd 3y agoI think the EU objections, and proposed remedies, make a lot more sense than the UK "bad exclusively because of cloud gaming" argument. A mandatory ten year period for games to be available cross platform probably solves the immediate problems of this (inevitable) merger. I doubt the UK decision will stand up to further legal procedures, and best case scenario they just split off the cloud gaming division and continue without any grounds for rejection. I'd much rather see these megacorps get split up, but that's not going to happen any day soon. I suppose the EU approach is the best I can hope for.
