In other news: politics is a thing whereby factions within a society compete for control over decision making and then use their control over decision making to make the decisions that they like. Turns out they like things that benefit them.

- rektide 3y agoMy personal belief is that there are a lot of people/politicians who actually want to help their nation. I don't know how new it is that we have so many absolutely mercenary interests in government that are both popular & deeply deeply cynical, are there for exploitation of the people & power. But i want to think their prominence is not the norm in Democratic systems.
