How to Play Hextraction
- pimlottc 3y agoThis sounds intriguing, but the images are oddly cropped so that it's really hard to tell what's going on. More images and bigger images please!
- mock-possum 3y ago> Zoomers: The chicken dinner thing is an outdated video-game reference. That’s cute but also completely untrue, “winner winner chicken dinner” predates video-games by half a century at least.
- lcnPylGDnU4H9OF 3y agoIt actually made me wonder if the video game call-out was tongue-in-cheek, as if to suggest that a member of Gen Z would not understand a game which isn't a video game. Looks like it's (probably) a reference to PUBG[0]: > Winner winner chicken dinner became popular online after the release of the 2017 multiplayer shooter video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). Game developer Brendan “PlayerUnkown” Greene is a fan of the phrase and included it in most of the battle-royale modes he has created. If a player manages to be the sole survivor of the notoriously difficult game of PUBG, they are greeted with the poultry praise upon victory. - zamnos 3y agoFrom your link: > David Guzman, author of a book on craps lingo, has said that the term comes from back-alley gamblers during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
- chrisco255 3y agoI'm pretty sure it's a Las Vegas reference to winning a free meal.
- darknavi 3y agoI know videos aren't everyone's favorite format, but Zack (voidstarlab) has a great video on Hextraction and is just a fun person to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqz7ZDdP25A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqz7ZDdP25A

- JohnFen 3y agoI'm a couple days into printing this game up to bring it to the next game night with my friends. I'm looking forward to it, because this looks like great fun.
- zouhair 3y agoSo, this is a free PvP version of Marble Circuit by MindWare[0], cool. [0]: https://roadstoeverywhere.com/marble-circuit/ https://roadstoeverywhere.com/marble-circuit/
- shagie 3y agoAnother game with a similar idea - Meander ( https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1244/meander https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1244/meander ) > Two players, seated on either side of a corner, fill up the board, creating routes to their respective opposite side. After the theory, the test. The board is tilted. A gentle touch releases the first player’s five balls, one by one, and gravity does the rest. Same procedure for the second player.
