You assume wrongly that donations to the wikimedia foundation goes to wikipedia. Only a small percentage. But if you want to support "queer studies" dissertations, go ahead! And there is nothing wrong with that work, but hiding behind a donation button on Wikipedia is fraudulent
- 0dayz 3y agoWhat's wrong with queer studies?
- HDThoreaun 3y agoImo whats wrong is that Wikimedia aggressively promotes the idea that wikipedia needs money and donations will go to wikipdeia when they're actually being used for something else. If the banner on wikipedia said "donate to our queer studies fund" I certainly wouldn't be complaining.
- 0dayz 3y agoOkay, where exactly are you getting this info from?
- mk67 3y agoNothing as long as the funding is transparent. What Wikipedia is doing is borderline fraudulent as most people would assume your donation is largely used for keeping Wikipedia running.
- rpgbr 3y agoGlad to know donations are funding important research (although this info by you deserves a [citation needed]).

- rpgbr 3y agoA Twitter thread from a random person with an anime avatar. Great.
- heywhatupboys 3y agowho cares about the medium? The posts are heavily sourced, often from wiki''s public records.
