If lyft died today I'd bet uber would capture most of its market.
- wpietri 3y agoSure. But it will end up a smaller monopoly if it doesn't acquire Lyft. An easy way to check: if Uber offers money for Lyft, that means Uber thinks they'd be better off with Lyft's assets. The death of Lyft also provides more opportunity for small players to enter the market or expand, because more of the current riders and drivers will look for other options than if they're just folded into Uber.
