Also if you were young in the 80s you had to ingest maybe two decades of limited great music in addition to the current one.
Someone growing up now has like five decades to learn from plus the vast vast music released today.

- stcroixx 3y agoYou’d have to have extremely narrow taste for that to be true. It was not uncommon at all for people to be into blues and jazz which goes back further and then of course you can go all the way back to Bach. We had jazz band in high school and punk and metal bands at the local all ages places on the weekends.
