Hi, Alejo Hausner! We worked on this problem, too, and Gordon Woodhull created a working system for dynamic hierarchical layout. I think he also incorporated an improved node positioning and edge routing algorithm of Ulrik Brandes. Gordon is a brilliant programmer.
