Should hotel rooms be cleaned daily? Housekeepers in those jobs think so
- elmerfud 3y agoI typically stay at decent hotel chains like Marriott or Hilton and sometimes they have sign where they say they only do cleaning every other day or something. I just tell them when I check in that they will be checking and cleaning my room daily. That doesn't mean that they need to change the bed sheets everyday or change out all of the towels in the bathroom everyday. At minimum they need to be making up the bed swiffering the room and wiping down surfaces quickly and checking if any towels need to be replaced. I've never had a problem with the hotel refusing that request or attempting to charge me extra for it. Considering the daily rates that most of these hotels charge it's included. What really irritates me is when I see a little card saying I can tip the cleaning staff if I think that they did a good job. I'm paying $150 plus a night and I need to tip the staff. Bullshit you pay them what you feel is the appropriate wage for their job and that's it.
