The top replies to this tweet are batshit crazy and a great representation of why I nuked my Twitter account. Twitter was never my favorite web property and I checked out a long time ago, but I would come back to read long form tweets, developing stories, and the occasional rant. Now? Few people I look up to are using it and I feel like every time I look at a reply it’s flooded with blue check marks spouting absolute nonsense or hate. Are normal people still using it?

  If all you follow are incels, Elon, and protesters then that’s who you’ll see. Tech twitter is the same as it ever was.

  Nonsense. I muted Musk and after the initial takeover shitshow. Twitter is mostly the same. A few tech people have left. But in terms of my other interest, there is very little difference. The idea that its not all nazis or whatever is complete nonsense.

Elon tweets have always had terrible replies, I have no idea if they are better or worse than it used to be. Probably about the same. In general I think twitter is slightly better since the takeover. I'm sure that someone who follows and engages with different people could come to completely the opposite opinion.

  Every major Twitter account has the lowest quality replies. Always has been. It’s just like popular threads on /r/all on Reddit. Good luck finding something that’s not cringey, blowing things out of proportion, or a bad joke.

Yes. If you stay away from high follower accounts and block/ignore blue checks it's still ok. But you're right, those comments are awful. > "she" > Well there goes the neighborhood > Twitter was nice while it lasted. Women are always the ones who usher in radical leftism

  Blue check on the app: probably 70/30 negative, with all the negative comments focusing on Yaccarino's official WEF involvement. Zero gender based or notably biolus comments, even after going back to try to scroll down into the content you're describing. Incognito on the web: all negative, mostly WEF new world order scaremongering, anti-woke hand wringing, and outright offensive comments.

  I have not nuked my account. But according to recent headlines Musk will do it for me because I have not logged in for 1.5 years or so. In some special occasions it was handy, but in general I would agree with the parent: Are any normal people still using Twitter?
