Ask HN: What site do you use that kept an old design?
I love websites that kept a 90s to early 00s look and feel. I recently rediscovered conversationexchange.com on the web and it was a pleasure to use.
More important, old sites that used to be great, get a polish the moment bean counters get in charge. It usually is a sign of bad things to come ( I am looking at you gandi.net) .
If you know a website that bucks the trend, like craiglist, please post it below.

- rlv-dan 3y agoPerhaps not "use", but the site where I publish my hobby software, still uses a design made in 1999. Slightly updated (now it uses CSS!) but still the same table based layout :-) Why? Well I guess have better things to do than constantly updating my site with the latest trends. It does its job. It's not mobile friendly, but my audience is mostly using a PC anyway. - dekervin 3y agoIt's clean, straight to the point ! And even perfect for your category because I subconsciously transfer those qualities to the software that is displayed on stand. I just bookmarked it with a note to testdrive cctime asap!

- dekervin 3y agoIt's nice on the eyes and as an added bonus, it's uncluterred by ads ( which was my expectation for politics oriented sites ). I just took a peek at the american conservative for comparison (https://www.theamericanconservative.com/ https://www.theamericanconservative.com/). The sticky menu and the bottom advertising bar make the site so noisy, it's painful.
