Often two people want to do a transaction without anyone else knowing about it. The US is, to a large extent, built on the idea the idea of individual freedom etc etc.

- danielmarkbruce 3y agoYup, and practically speaking the IRS ends up knowing about virtually every meaningful transaction too. But, the people get to do the thing without anyone knowing they are going to do it, or stopping them doing it, or in most cases many of the details.
