Deploying a Rails App on Render with Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq, and Cron Jobs
- hbroadbent 3y agoHey — I wrote up this blog post and it was received well on reddit and in the rails community, so I thought I'd repost it here too for the hn crowd. A shortish post going over how to deploy a slightly-more-complex-than-usual Rails app to Render (heroku competitor). Render has some good guides for Rails, but they miss the Cron job part. Hope you find it useful, and I'd love to hear any feedback you've got! (I've already received a handy pointer that I could consolidate the cron jobs and sidekiq worker using the sidekiq-cron gem, i'll be trying that soon).
