Might be in the minority but I have no problem with publicizing illness/disease. If it results in even a single life being saved due to publicity, or increased donation/research then I think the net effect is positive.

As long as details are fully anonymised. I wouldn't have liked my disease to go public on Internet.

The issue is that once their kid is better, they lose the clout and online business, making a perverse incentive to keep their kids unwell.
