As a regular joe that wants to store some TBs of data it does not matter to me whether the $/TB has been improving faster or slower. I just care that I can still read my data after X years and what the lower $/TB is. SSD improved price by 60% and HDD by 2%? I don't care if HDD is still half as expensive per TB as SSD per unit of space taken in my enclosure...
