Would (1) hit problems because you may store them coalesced eventually, but you sent them to the other clients as individual events, where they may get interleaved with events from that client? I think it might mess with fine-grained undo, also? (idk much about CRDTs) "Reject re-used sequence numbers" might be simpler?
