Love this comment and the passion behind it. Another non-US person here who routinely has to do a buttload of research to know whether products will be supported (or usable) in the future, especially with US-centric takeovers. I wish these companies had some sort of open source pact built into the licensing, eg after 3 years the support window ends but the software becomes open source. We won't solve your problems anymore but you/the community can if you want. That would be amazing...
