- nivertech 3y agoEach chat participant opens 2 bash terminals: Terminal #1 $ touch chat.txt $ tail -f chat.txt # or $ watch chat.txt Terminal #2 $ echo "${USER}: hello" >> chat.txt $ echo "${USER}: hello, again" >> chat.txt $ echo "${USER}: bye!" >> chat.txt Also there are builtin UNIX/Linux CLI commands to send messages to users.
