i think the 'gpt scam' that you alleged will likely turn 50 years into 20 years.
year 2023 - gpt4 launched
year 2030 - AGI or sth equivalant launched and can create new knowlege and invent new tools at an astonisng speed
year 2040 - you will have 1 and 2 and much more
- aristofun 3y agoI bet today’s 1000$ there will be no such thing as AGI in 50 years. Unless the definition of AGI will be bent to fulfill the craving.
- ano88888 3y agoWell , can you really define AGI? Doesn't your definition of AGI change? Tons of people would already regard gpt4 as AGI ( though i think it is definitely not yet). We humans don't even fully understand our own intelligence and conciousness. We can't really define our own intelligence in a definte way. eg If your definition of AGI is it has a soul like some belive we are , then we will probably never have AGI as it can never be proved. For me, if an 'AGI' can have human like general behaviour/intelligence of better-than-average humans than it qualifies as AGI. I don't really care it is just statistics deep down just like we are just a bunch of molecures connecting to each other in some particular way.
