- noduerme 4y agoJust thinking about it a bit more (too late to edit)... would these folks ask colonized people to be "cute and pathetic"? I mean, that's exactly the way colonized people were viewed in Western culture for a long time. This reads therefore as a significant malapropism that shines a light on the real psychological drive behind these sorts of cult-like manifestos... it's just a simple redirection of colonial chauvinism toward one's peer group, and toward modern citizenry who believe in and strive for individual freedoms. As such it's anti-liberal and is only using anticolonialism or anticapitalism as an entry point to push collectivist groupthink and anti-individualism (just like most cults do). If empires colonized indigenous people and fascists colonized neighboring democracies, the soviets colonized their own population... each reducing the targeted group to cute and pathetic, and declaring that group to be dangerous when it failed to conform to that image. So the decolonial future implied here is one in which all people are colonized.
