Ask HN: As a CTO/VPE would you use 'Uber for professional software teams?'
Hi everyone,
I'm rethinking software outsourcing and building marketplace service for remote professional software teams.
Like in Uber, a driver by operating a car gives you a ride — in my product, a dedicated project manager by operating a remote team, delivers software that matches your requirements and quality standards.
Things that make it better than a software agency:
- A curated network of professional software teams gives a virtually unlimited choice of technology stack and skills.
- Frees up customers from RFPs and assessments.
- Focus on operational efficiency.
Does it make sense? Would love feedback/thoughts. I target mid-level technical executives at customer-centric software companies/products — would you use a service like this? Why and why not?

- neximo64 3y agoNot sure what that means. Is that like Upwork, Gitstart?
- oguryanov 3y agoYes, Gigster is the closest one but their focus on AI/Blockchain and innovations overall, while my focus is on general development and operational efficiency.
- sarcasmatwork 3y agoWho's IP/Copyright is it if I come to you and you do the work or part of the project? Mine or supergile? How are you protecting IP/trade secrets? $12,800/mo for just prototyping? How do I know you're working not just wasting time? Is there a weekly meeting or something to give customer they are getting their money's worth? Interesting idea... I've got many projects I want to create, I'm just not a dev. I do everything else tho. :)
- oguryanov 3y agoThe IP/Copyright belongs to you. It's a common concern when outsourcing software, so my goal is to make it concern-free like Upwork does. Def good question, I'll make changes. IP and trade secrets are protected by the contract with the engineers. I'm targeting enterprise customers and they have more complex products and requirements so yes, $12,800/mo is for prototyping. My assumption is that mid-level tech execs have experience outsourcing software, so they know exactly when it's working out and when not. Yes, there will be daily and weekly check-ins and the process tracking tools in place, just like with the in-house team.
