I don’t quite understand the point in all this. Design tradeoffs are still a thing; did we all just forget?

- mattgreenrocks 3y agoSoftware architecture is (incorrectly) seen as NP-hard by practitioners, so they avoid it, and instead focus on implementing the current "best practices." However, "best practices" can't be best if they're situational, so we arrive at very local maxima, such as microservices for all.
