I'm in the Stanford area and I see people still wearing masks outside every day. I think there should be a study of mental trauma if there hasn't been one already.
- spondylosaurus 3y agoIt's spring (after an unusually wet winter, no less) and masks are awesome if you have environmental allergies. Keeps all the pollen from jumping up your sinuses. Really weird to assume that people would only ever wear a mask because of "mental trauma."
- proc0 3y agoEven indoors? I even see people driving alone and wearing them. I see so many I seriously doubt they are sick or have allergies. Maybe it's just an area with a lot of sick people, but if not, I'm amazed how much people don't want to breathe in more air.
- spondylosaurus 3y agoYou were referring to outdoor masking. I would assume indoor masking is because... people don't want to get (or spread) covid. Since that still exists, and immunocompromised people still exist. Shocking, I know!
- chownie 3y agoI wear masks in the sun because I use a topical medication which induces photosensitivity in my skin. This isn't an ivory tower you're looking down on people from, it's a highchair.
- proc0 3y agoI see people indoors with masks as well. The grocery store is about 20% people with masks. I guess if it has nothing to do with the pandemic, then there are a variety of reasons people do it now. I still think there is an element of the lasting imprint from the pandemic.
- tinus_hn 3y agoI don’t care if people wear masks for the rest of their life as long as they don’t try to force me to. As in this article of course, somehow because these people have long COVID they demand everyone wears a mask around them. And of course they know better than the medical professionals, now that they don’t agree with their beliefs anymore.
