Yet the gun violence in america is off the charts compared to other western nations. Just today there was yet another mass shooting in texas. Seems the dead people there weren't helped by guns after all.
- porkbeer 3y agoGun violence does not scale with number of guns however, which you seem to be implying.
- dtx1 3y agoI don't know how gun violence scales with number of guns all i can say is that the USA has an obvious problem here and no solution for it. If you look at the czech republic that also have rather liberal gun laws (for european standards) yet significantly less gun violence, it seems that the american way of guns for everyone who isn't a criminal (yet) is obviously and tragically failing. But it's a moot point, if school children being slaughter isn't enough to pass mandatory licensing and regular background checks and mental exams for gun owners nothing will. The left only wants to ban guns, the right is blocking any progress on reducing gun violence and people get slaughtered in schools, shopping malls and on the street. I genuinely believe that peoples are responsible for their government, especially in democracies so when it comes to gun violence it seems americans get exactly what they want. Questionable freedom in exchange for dead school children and utterly dumb gun laws. Good thing those founding fathers wrote that 2nd amendment, they sure were wise man.
