"A.I.-PR industrial complex" is a bizarre term, presumably coined by the author. I'm not sure what they mean by it, but seeing as "crypto" was one of its predecessors (as in the crypto-industrial complex?? The crypto press release industrial complex??), I'm guessing: not much.

This is absolutely the case.
P.S. what is a "threadbois"?
- mattdeboard 3y ago"PR" means "public relations" in this context, not "press release." PR is deployed by capital to influence public opinion, drive interest & investment, etc. It is true on its face AI is in a PR-driven hype cycle just like crypto before it. Having a hype cycle doesn't mean there's no value in the thing being hyped, only that its perceived value is being driven higher during the hype cycle.
