This resonates with me. I'm a developer and writer, not a designer. I'm a bottom up kind of guy, I want to get the things work correctly, without building mockups or a strategy first. Iterative creations, you know? Obviously, non-technical people have to do it the other way around, so most resources you find online focus on the top down approach.
