For all intents and purposes, that doesn't really affect the wikipedia articles in any way, pointless to argue about it. Not going to read that wall of text about phrasing, but I assume there's a good enough reason (no strong opinion either way). Also, wiki bulk edit tools exist, it's not like they're actually editing tens of thousands of articles manually.
