I'm not sure I agree with the pedantry, but I'll leave that to the side and ask: Why change "comprised of" to "consists of" (for example) rather than changing it to "comprises"? If you are so hung up on the usage of that word, why not use it in the way you think is correct rather than trying to excise it from Wikipedia?
