How would you explain it to someone unfamiliar with Ethereum?

  Its like Yelp. You can openly view and search the reputation of businesses/freelancers/restaurants/individuals (but in the form of an eth address). Or you could add to the database of reviews, either through reporting someone (provided you give evidence) or verifying that they delivered on their promises (same goes).
