I wonder how many issues would be fixed if it was explicitly made legal to break copy protection in all cases? Honestly, it'd be nice if at least one rich person/large company/group of tech companies just flat out campaigned for full rights to anything you buy, and got the law changed for the better, regardless of much money was needed in lobbying, ads, etc.
