They seem to suffer from similar problems as Julia: Type inference for large projects seems to be extremely difficult and results in huge compile times / startup times and or runtimes.
- eigenspace 3y agoThere's been a lot of progress made over the past few releases for Julia's startup and compile times. With the upcoming release of version 1.9, we'll be caching native machine code from the precompilation phase of a package. Packages will be able to specify precompilation workflows that are run when the package is installed and then cache the results from that leading to a huge improvement of the loading time for most heavy packages.
